Description:
Collagen is a special protein that makes up approximately 30–35% of the body’s total protein and 70–80% of the skin’s protein content. It is continuously produced in our body, but its levels start to decline from around the age of 20–25. Collagen production is estimated to decrease by about 1% per year, especially in the skin. Collagen is particularly important for maintaining skin elasticity, strong hair, robust connective tissues and bones, and flexible joints.
Traditionally, collagen has been sourced from animals, but it is only partially absorbed in its natural form. Various processes have therefore been developed to improve its bioavailability. Most vegan collagen alternatives contain only a few basic proteins, from which collagen may be partially formed.
The Vollagen Complex is a world-first in vegan products. It contains a 100% plant-based complex of 18 amino acids, matching the composition of natural collagen. These amino acids are provided in a ready-to-absorb, microencapsulated, water-soluble form, which may allow for better absorption than some animal-derived collagens.
